Local Attractions
While Matkin Farm Inn is located in the breathtaking countryside of Southeast Missouri, there are a number of retail establishments, restaurants, wineries, and state parks and other attractions that are located just a short drive away.
Nearby Farmington Missouri features a historic downtown district with coffee houses, restaurants, and retail shops that host a wide array of goods and antiques. The Factory is a popular place to find unique vintage items and 12 West has delicious gourmet food available for lunch and dinner.
St. Joe State Park covers a vast majority of the countryside around nearby Park Hills and Doe Run and has a number of walking, hiking, and bicycle trails. It’s not uncommon to see deer grazing and passing through the park at night, so drive carefully!
Missouri wine production is alive and well throughout the parkland and surrounding communities. There are a number of wineries just outside of Park Hills and in the neighboring county of Ste. Genevieve. We offer shuttle services to and from these wineries for all guests.
